In Exchange 2007, the anti-spam and antivirus features provide services to block viruses and spam, or unsolicited commercial e-mail, at the network perimeter. Servers that run the Edge Transport Server Role help prevent users in your organisation from receiving spam by providing a collection of agents that work together to provide different layers of spam filtering and protection.

Anytime, Anywhere Access is demonstrated through Unified Messaging that combines email, voicemail and fax into a single inbox, so you don’t spend valuable time trying to keep up with your communications. Outlook web access is possible from a wide range of mobile devices making it easier to t find and share data, documents and schedules from anywhere.

Meets all your compliance requirements for e-mail and messaging, including: email archiving, data retention and discovery, controlled access to data, and policy and procedure enforcement- all compliant with EU law. Exchange administrators can define transport rules in Exchange Server 2007 that conform to corporate e-mail policy.

Secure Encryption - All mail travelling within an Exchange Server 2007 organisation is encrypted by default, allowing users to send and receive encrypted email content for sensitive documents. Previously third party products were required.

Backup Resilience - Exchange 2007 has introduced two different kinds of cluster replication of email. It’s now possible to completely recover data with no loss at all.

SharePoint Integration - Tightly integrated with the Exchange Mail system. SharePoint 2007 web parts provide smooth integration with Exchange Outlook Web Access (OWA), allowing for inboxes, calendars, and other mail data to be accessed directly from a SharePoint site. Older versions of Exchange, such as Exchange 2003 OWA, are supported, but the integration is not as tight.
